Utah Guard Claims Top Honors at Tactical Games
August 29, 2020
All Guard Marksmanship Team claimed top honors at the Tactical Games, hosted at the North Springs Shooting Range in Price, Utah, Aug. 29-30, 2020. The Tactical Games is an open competition where shooter-athletes must accomplish physically demanding, combat-related tasks within certain time constraints.

The competition also provided a way for National Guard members to identify weaknesses in their overall fitness and put their gear to the test in an austere environment.

Utah Soldiers Train With “Solidarity and Purpose” During Pandemic

Members of the 204th MEB were airlifted to a nearby tactical command post by the 2nd General Support Battalion,211th Aviation Regiment aircrews who provided in-air medical care.

The Adjutant General, Brig. Gen. (P) Michael J. Turley promotes to Major General
August 6, 2020
The Adjutant General, Maj. Gen. Michael J. Turley  with his family at the Utah State Capitol, in the Gold Room, after his promotion ceremony Aug. 6, 2020. Gov. Gary R. Herbert officiated at the ceremony and administered the oath of office. Turley's wife, MaryLou, pinned on his new rank with his family assembled in the Gold Room observing. Command Sgt. Maj. Spencer Nielsen unfurled and posted the two-star flag followed by offering the first salute. 
Due to COVID-19 social distancing those who attended in person were limited. The ceremony was broadcasted on Facebook Live where hundreds were able to be a part of this historical day.

Utah’s first Gold Star Family Monument unveiled in North Ogden

The focus of the memorial is to preserve the memory of fallen service members and allow their families some degree of closure and perhaps some comfort in knowing the community hasn’t forgotten them.

Twelve Soldiers from the Western United States and Guam exhausted themselves physically and mentally over three blisteringly hot days at Camp Williams, July 28-30, to be named the Soldier and Noncommissioned Officer of the Year during the 2020 National Guard Region VII Best Warrior Competition
