UTNG Soldier and Olympic Silver Medalist coaches bobsled team

Staff Sgt. Shauna Rohbock with the Utah National Guard Joint Force Headquarters and assigned to the U.S. Army World Class Athlete Program named U.S. Olympic Bobsled assistant coach for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China.

Rohbock is an Olympic silver medalist and a former professional soccer player. She is a Soldier in the U.S. Army National Guard and was also a member of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition.

Rohbock, a Utah native from Provo, began the sport of bobsled in 1999 as a brakewoman and became a pilot in 2002. In 2006, Rohbock competed in the two-woman bobsled event at the Turin 2006 Winter Olympics winning silver with teammate Valerie Fleming at Cesana Pariol, Italy.

Rohbock was named to the 2010 Winter Olympic team and finished sixth with teammate Michelle Rzepka. Rohbock and Fleming have won the most medals ever on the World Cup circuit for a U.S. pair, male or female.

She coached Team USA Bobsled men and women at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, where U.S. athletes won a silver medal in women’s bobsled.

Bobsled at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics will be held at the Xiaohaituo Bobsleigh and Luge Track. The four women’s and men’s events are scheduled to take place on Feb. 13, 14, 15, 18,19, and 20.
