Mission: The Utah Counterdrug Program (UTCDP) is a mission within the Utah National Guard, utilizing highly-skilled Soldiers and Airmen in support of the fight against drugs in our local communities, as well as abroad. The UTCDP partners with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies across the full spectrum of counterdrug homeland defense operations, utilizing military-unique skills, equipment, and personnel.  UTCDP provides expertise in the areas of document and media exploitation, as well as signal intelligence, IT personnel, and skilled linguists. 

Joining the Counterdrug Team:

UTCDP is open to service members with credentialed training in human resources, information systems/cyber operations, supply/logistics, military intelligence, geospatial mapping, and analytics. Preference will be given to individuals with the following Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) or Air Force Specialty Codes (AFSC):

Army MOS: 35F (Intelligence Analyst); 35L (Counterintelligence Agent); 35M (Human Intelligence Collector); 35N (Signals Intelligence); 35P (Cryptologic Linguist); 35T (Military Intelligence); 35Q (Cryptologic Cyberspace Intel Collector) 17C (Cyber Operations), 25B (Information Technology), 25U (Signal Support); 36B (Financial Management); 42A (Human Resources); 92A (Automated Logistics), 92Y (Unit Supply);

Air Force AFSC:  14N (Intelligence); 1NO (Operations Intelligence); 1N3 (Cryptologic Language Analyst); 1N4 (Fusion Analyst); 2G0 (Logistics); 3C1 (Information Systems Technology), 3C2 (Network Integration); 3D0 (Knowledge Operations Management); 3S0 (Personnel); 6F0 (Financial Management); 7S0 (Special Investigations); 9L (Interpreter/Translator)

However, there are opportunities for those in other military jobs to be hired and trained in a needed specialty as a secondary MOS/AFSC.

While traditional citizen Soldiers and Airmen of the Utah National Guard are part-time, those who meet the right qualifications can volunteer for full-time missions within the Utah Counterdrug Program.  If selected, these National Guard service members are placed on an active duty status under Title 32 orders. They receive all benefits of an active duty service member, to include full pay based on rank, housing allowance, food stipend, specialty pays (foreign language pay if they qualify), full health care (TRICARE) coverage at little or no cost, and retirement benefits, to name a few.
