The Utah National Guard is pleased to announce the 62nd Annual Freedom Academy, to be held at Camp W.G. Williams from July 14-19, 2024. We invite all student body officers as well as other student leaders within schools and communities to attend.

Freedom Academy costs nothing to the student or school other than transportation to and from Camp Williams. Freedom Academy covers all expenses during their stay. Please have your school’s nominated representative and alternate(s) register by filling out this registration application form.


A complete information packet will be mailed to the delegate once their name(s) are received. Delegate names are due by the deadline: May 31, 2024. If your delegate is unknown, indicate this by requesting a space be reserved for your school. Please email us at the email above with any questions.

Please stress to your nominee the importance of attending as scheduled once they accept the nomination. If for some reason they are unable to attend, arrangements should be made for their alternate to attend.

The Utah National Guard and the Honorary Colonels Corps has sponsored Freedom Academy since 1961. Freedom Academy promotes the ideals and principles of The United States of America, a sense of patriotism, and motivation to actively participate in preserving our freedom. Students are exposed to prominent Utah government, business, and military leaders receiving hands-on experience with them, and the tools of their trades. The program presents a balanced curriculum designed to serve the academic, social, and recreational needs of each delegate. Students will return to their schools with a renewed sense of patriotism and appreciation for all our nation's freedoms.

Freedom Academy is for students in-between their Junior and Senior years in high school. All students with leadership potential are encouraged to apply. Registration is limited to 1-2 students per school.

Freedom Academy is FREE to attendees. Meals and lodging provided.
