The Utah National Guard is proud to support the 58th annual Freedom Academy July 28-Aug. 2, 2019 at Camp Williams.

Approximately 100 high school student-body officers from high schools throughout Utah will attend classes and participate in activities aimed at developing leadership skills, promoting a sense of patriotism and providing motivation to be actively involved in preserving the freedoms we enjoy.

The Utah National Guard and the Honorary Colonels Corps has sponsored the annual Freedom Academy since 1961. The purpose of Freedom Academy is to teach our young leaders the importance of all aspects of freedom—that freedom does come with a price and that it is every American citizen’s responsibility to ensure freedom is there for generations to come.

 Highlights throughout the week include:

• Several leadership and motivational keynote speakers

• State Prison tour

• State Capitol tour - meet Governor, Speaker of the House and Senate President

• Tour of Channel 2 News Station

• Tour of Utah National Guard Air and Army Base
