Free to the Public: Hiring Utah’s Heroes Veterans Career and Benefits Fair

The Hiring Utah’s Heroes Veterans Career and Benefits Fair is free to the public and scheduled for Wednesday, October 30th, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Mountain America Exposition Center in Sandy.

The fair is one of a series of events intended to assist veterans, active-duty military, members of the National Guard and Reserve and military spouses to obtain information on veteran benefits, employment opportunities or to upgrade their current job situations.

At the former job fair event held in Sandy in November 2018 there were 226 job seekers, 482 resumes accepted, 85 on-the-spot interviews conducted, and 79 conditional job offers extended to applicants. More than 85 employers with more than 2,200 combined job openings will be on-hand October 30th to discuss job opportunities, many of whom will be prepared to extend solid offers to qualified applicants. Also, a selected group of Veteran’s Service Providers will be on-hand to assist individuals with updated service related benefits and resources that they may qualify for.

Employers and service providers who wish to receive information on these events can contact Mark Harrison at the number listed below. This Hiring Utah’s Heroes Veterans event is being conducted by the Utah Veterans and Military Employment Coalition, the Utah Department of Veterans and Military Affairs, the National Guard Employment Support Program, the Utah Department of Workforce Services, the Utah Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), Salt Lake, Davis, and Ogden-Weber Chambers of Commerce, the Department of Labor’s Veterans Employment and Training Service (DOL VETS), and many other local partners.
