Utah Air National Guard to conduct unprecedented Joint Force exercise

By Tech. Sgt. Nicholas Perez, Utah Air National Guard

The Utah Air National Guard will conduct an unprecedented Joint Force exercise at the Roland R. Wright Air National Guard Base and Dugway Proving Ground, Sept. 7-8, 2022.

The exercise will include more than six military components throughout the Air Force, Army, and Navy and will be testing new capabilities and concepts designed to change how we fight in future conflicts.

The purpose of this exercise is to practice Agile Combat Employment while training multi-capable Airmen. Agile Combat Employment is an operating concept for today's changing threat environment and will shape how Airmen are trained, the resources that are invest in, and how Airmen work together with international partners. Multi-capable Airmen is a new concept, where Airmen are trained in skills outside of their current career field. Exercises likes this challenge the status quo and help to modernize our forces to help us be strategic against our greatest competitors.

“The Utah Air National Guard is at the front of developing new operational concepts, capabilities, and plans in order to bolster deterrence and maintain our competitive advantage for the future,” said Brig. Gen. Dan Boyack, Utah Air National Guard commander.
