SALT LAKE CITY, Utah –
Nearly 50 Utah Army National Guard Soldiers assigned to 2nd Battalion, 211th General Support Aviation Regiment are returning home from an 11-month Iraq deployment, arriving on multiple flights over the next few days at the Salt Lake International Airport.
The 2-211th deployed on June 15th, 2018, the weekend of Father’s Day, and they will be returning just in time for Mother’s Day. For security reasons, the exact location and arrival time of each flight will not be publically released. Updates and photos will be posted to the Utah National Guard Twitter feed: @UTNationalGuard.
The 2-211th specializes in flying UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters. Since June 2018, more than 200 Soldiers from the 2-211th Aviation Battalion have served as the sole General Support Aviation Battalion in Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Kuwait, and Afghanistan.
