SALT LAKE CITY, Utah –
Approximately 25 Soldiers from the 141st Military Intelligence Battalion, 300th Military Intelligence Brigade, are scheduled to depart Utah in mid-December, as they prepare to deploy in support of U.S. Central Command operations overseas.
The detachment, comprised of human intelligence and counterintelligence Soldiers from the 141st MI BN, are tasked to provide force protection support to ground forces during a 12-month deployment in the CENTCOM area of operations.
“I am extremely proud of the team of Soldiers we have assembled for this mission,” said Lt. Col. Jeremy Stevenson, 141st MI BN commander. “We have selected some of our best leaders and Soldiers, and this is the culmination of years of training and team building. Force protection is a unique mission in that no matter where in the world we are sent, it is an honor to be entrusted with the tremendous responsibility of helping protect our fellow American and coalition service members.”
A departure ceremony will be held prior to their deployment. The safety of all citizens and service members remains a top priority. COVID-19 safety protocols will be implemented to ensure the safety of all in attendance. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, media will not be invited to attend the departure ceremony.
