DRAPER HEADQUARTERS, Utah –
Soldiers of the 300th Military Intelligence Brigade come to celebrate the successes of outgoing commander Col. Joseph Green and welcome the new commander Col. Shahram Takmili as the new brigade commander, at the Draper Utah National Guard Headquarters building August 10, 2019.
Green will be taking on a new assignment as a member of Maj. Gen. Jeff Burton’s staff while Takmili has big plans for the Brigade.
“Readiness is the number one objective of the 300th MI Brigade, and readiness starts with strength,” he said. “We will focus on retention and recruiting to meet our readiness goals. The next major objective will be to realign the brigade with our active duty counterparts to better meet Army requirements. This will be an essential component to insure unit relevancy, as we transition from a strategic reserve to an operational reserve.”
Takmili will lead from the front with his knowledge of Dari, Farsi and Tajik, and exemplifies the motto “Excellence in Language.”
